Support the District’s Data Collection Bureau by managing the District’s scientific enterprise database, associated data processing applications, and stored hydrologic data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and availability of valuable water resource data to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities- Serve as the application administrator for the hydrologic data management system and develop, support, and improve data retrieval tools related to this system.
- Develop and maintain data transfer processes to ingest data from multiple databases into the hydrologic data management system.
- Maintain and occasionally develop data pipelines that transform raw data into usable formats, cleanse data inconsistencies, and review metadata.
- Reliably produce daily, weekly, monthly, and as‑needed reports currently written in R, SAS, and Python.
- Coordinate closely with the Information Technology Bureau to ensure data pipeline integrity by maintaining automated and ad‑hoc data transfers across various systems.
- Perform statistical analysis, mapping, and reporting of hydrologic data to identify trends, patterns, and potential issues.
- Respond to staff and public requests for hydrologic data and assist internal and external users with data retrievals and training.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in data or computer science with a concentration in environmental data, or equivalent; 3 to 7 years related work experience including programming skills (R, SQL) for level 3; 5 to 9 years for level 4; 6 to 12 years for level 5; or high school diploma with 7 to 12 years.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience in hydrology, water‑resource data, or related field.
- Proficiency in R and Python for data science tasks.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.

CompensationStarting salary ranges:
Analyst 3 $ 53,589–$73,163;
Analyst 4 $ 57,875–$78,991;
Analyst 5 $ 66,180–$91,500.

This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, out of the Brooksville, FL office, with some remote work available. Travel within the District’s coverage area is required.
