Job Description

This is a remote position.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Smart

COMM Developer to join our insurance technology team. The role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining Policy and Claims forms leveraging Smart

COMM (Thunderhead) solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Smart

COMM projects, a solid understanding of Guidewire integrations, and proven experience delivering high-quality, multi-channel communications in P&C insurance environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Policy, Billing, and Claim forms using Smart

    COMM (Advanced Template Designer, Data Modeller, Layouts, and Style sets).
  • Work with business and technical teams to analyse requirements and translate them into communication templates.
  • Build and configure data models (XML, XSD, JSON, DTDs) for use within Smart

    COMM solutions.
  • Develop reusable components such as shared content, enclosures, script libraries, and configuration files.
  • Collaborate with Guidewire Policy Center/Claim Center teams for seamless data mapping and integration.
  • Conduct unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution across SIT, UAT, and E2E test cycles.
  • Support deployments and provide production issue analysis/resolution.
  • Mentor junior developers and support knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Work in Agile delivery environments with global teams.
Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Smart

    COMM/Thunderhead CCM solutions.
  • Strong expertise in Policy and Claim forms development for P&C insurance carriers.

Proficiency in:

  • Smart

    COMM Components – ATD, Data Modeller, Layouts, Shared Content, Style sets, Config files.
  • Channels – Print, Word, Web, PDF, SMS, Email.
  • Smart

    COMM APIs and integration with external systems.
  • Strong understanding of Guidewire (Policy Center, Billing Center, Claim Center) integration with Smart

    COMM.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and working in distributed teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Good to Have
  • Experience with Smart

    IQ for forms, workflows, and dashboards.
  • Exposure to large-scale Insurance transformation projects (e.g., migration of forms from legacy to Smart

    COMM).
  • Knowledge of the banking/financial domain forms development is an added advantage.
