About the Opportunity, The Information Technology Services (ITS) Business Enablement (PMO) department has an immediate opening for a Project Manager / Scrum Master at the Senior level. In your role, you will provide expertise and direction on highly complex, large-scale and/or high-priority technology-based projects, offering varying levels of project management oversight, and directly influencing activities on business-critical projects from the conceptual phase through solution implementation and project close.
You will be a single point-of-contact for and work with all areas affected by projects and use industry-standard best practices to assure delivery of project goals, objectives, milestones, and deliverables, and compliance with all project management processes. You also may direct the work of matrixed teams.
- Facilitate intake and own work execution of technology-based architecture team members with inputs from customers, IT leadership, Release Train Engineers, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate prioritization, resource allocation, capacity, and assignments by working closely with stakeholders.
- Manage a team of Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers on an agile scrum team (SAFe).
- Clear impediments for the team and communicate risks, issues, and organizational impediments to leadership.
- Facilitate agile/scrum ceremonies such as PI ceremonies, sprint ceremonies, scrum of scrums, summits and working sessions.
- Ensure a healthy continuous improvement environment.
- Provide communication and reporting to stakeholders on current health, support areas, and improvement plans.
- Manage innovation portfolio, including a pipeline of initiatives from concept through disposition, and communicate initiative and portfolio status.
- Own and/or support presentation & narrative (storytelling) of technical concepts, recommendations, and alternatives to a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Ability to implement agile metrics and use those metrics to help the team(s) identify opportunities for improvement during the retrospective meetings.
- Ability to empower a self-organized team to work together on product delivery.
- Proven ability to teach, mentor, facilitate, and coach teams to continuously improve while using the Scrum framework.
- Coordinate work across multiple Scrum Teams where dependencies exist.
- Ability to manage the agile software development lifecycle from project initiation to release to production.
- Ability to influence change across the organization by adopting Scrum/Agile principles.
- Ability to challenge teams to break down stories into reasonable sizes to deliver work in every Sprint.
- Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database, and system design.
- Proven experience managing large, complex Data Warehouse/ETL applications is preferred.
- Facilitate Sprint Planning/Pre-Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives, and Product Demos.
- bachelor’s degree or higher.
- 5 to 9+ years of relevant experience.
- PMP, Scrum, and Agile certifications preferred.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate technical concepts to all audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to be successful operating in a virtual environment.
- Ability to ask probing questions, identify unstated assumptions, and resolve conflicts.
- Broad knowledge and expertise of Project/Agile methodologies and industry best practices to lead high performers who work individually as well as a cohort.
- Strategic with execution skills by applying a lean-agile mindset to maximize value of Architects skills, time & capacity.
- Excellent facilitation skillset with the ability to connect dots and understand interdependencies.
- Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint.
- Experience with Agile tools like Version 1 and Jira is preferred.
