IT Project Manager, Cloud Computing, Web Developer, IT Consultant
Connsci is seeking a Drupal Architect to serve as the technical and operational lead on one of our federal government programs supporting public-facing website operations. This role combines project management leadership with expert-level Drupal architectural oversight in an Azure Gov Cloud/Windows Server/IIS environment. The candidate will guide all activities related to updates, security, performance, compliance, and release planning for Drupal 9/10 applications.
Responsibilities- Lead all website O&M activities, including planning, prioritization, and release management
- Oversee technical architecture for Drupal 9/10 hosted on Azure Gov Cloud, Windows Server, IIS, PHP, and SQL Server
- Serve as primary liaison with stakeholders for updates, communications, and risk management
- Coordinate Azure Gov Cloud hosting operations and security alignment
- Ensure FISMA-lite, RMF-lite, and agency compliance for the website
- Lead accessibility (508/WCAG) compliance efforts with development team
- Oversee patching, core/module upgrade strategy, performance tuning, and monitoring
- Maintain Git/Git Hub branching, versioning, and deployment workflows
- Ensure system reliability, continuity, and alignment with agency requirements
- At least 8 years of IT/web development or architecture experience
- At least 5 years of hands‑on Drupal 8/9/10 experience
- At least 2 years of experience leading federal O&M or Drupal-based government websites
- At least 2 years of experience in Azure Gov Cloud hosting, Windows Server, and IIS
- At least 2 years of experience with PHP-based application hosting and SQL Server database integration
- At least 2 years of experience with security practices, updates, and release processes
- At least 2 years of experience handling stakeholder communication and coordination
- At least 2 years of experience supporting Section 508/WCAG accessibility compliance
- Current Public Trust or higher level government issues security clearance
- Acquia Certified Drupal Architect or Advanced Drupal Developer
- Experience with FedRAMP or RMF frameworks
- Experience with performance optimization and caching strategies
- PMP certification
This role allows for remote work but there is a chance for occasional time in office for critical/collaborative initiatives. The office location is in Washington, DC and is Metro and rail (Union Station) accessible.
