Location: Remote (Oakland, CA office base)
Schedule: Full-Time
Reports To: GARE Deputy Director of Network Strategies
Tentative Start: ASAP
About Race Forward & GARERace Forward focuses on advancing racial justice through systems change, partnerships, and movement building. The GARE (Government Alliance on Race and Equity) program specifically supports government agencies in implementing racial equity strategies and practices.
Role OverviewThis is a project-heavy, network-facing role where you will:
- Lead, coordinate, and organize cross-functional projects across GARE
- Serve as a main point of contact for members, speakers, partners, and internal teams
- Facilitate dialogues, network groups, and engagement spaces
- Manage events logistics, onboarding processes, and internal communications
- Improve processes and provide reports, status updates, and operational support
- Independently manage multi-project timelines, tasks, and deadlines
- Develop and maintain processes, timelines, and coordination systems
- Support GARE member onboarding, program access, and engagement
- Act as liaison between speakers, performers, and Race Forward departments
- Facilitate member-facing dialogues, community spaces, and network events
- Assist in event planning (virtual and in-person), tech setup, and meeting support
- Work closely with Communications, Engagement, and Senior Leadership teams
- Analyze data, track program metrics, and present reports
- Other duties as assigned
- 3+ years project management or information management experience
- Strong racial equity and social justice commitment
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience coordinating communications, events, or programming
- Strong project management tools proficiency (Zoom, MS Office, PM software)
- Self-starter with problem-solving, process-building, and multitasking abilities
- PMP certification is a plus
- Experience working with social impact networks or nonprofits is a plus
