The Virginia Department of Social Services, Division of Local Training and Development (LTD) is currently seeking a Data Analyst Senior. This position is responsible for supporting the reporting and data analytics needs of the division. The Data Analyst Senior is responsible for building, creating, modifying, producing and managing program specific reporting services and tools. The position uses qualitative and quantitative analyses to assess program effectiveness;

performing statistical analysis of VDSS and local departments’ work forces to identify actionable insights and to drive results in employee training programs; creates and analyzes large data sets and communicates the results across the organization. This role ensures that training initiatives align with organizational goals, meets compliance standards, and supports continuous improvement through data‑driven analysis and insights.

• Experience using principles of research, statistical analysis and report preparation using research resources and software applications.
• Experience with data systems, reporting, and query tools, Excel, and data visualization.
• Experience with data analytics: designing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and scorecards.
• Experience assessing and documenting management reporting needs.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Considerable experience in program evaluation.
• Considerable knowledge, skills, and experience using principles of research, statistical analysis, and report preparation.
• Strong analytical skills and continuous quality improvement (CQI) principles and trends.
• Knowledge of Human Services practices and principles.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate complex information in a condensed manner to various audiences.

• Experience working in a government, public sector, or educational training environment.
• Familiarity with state-sponsored training programs or workforce development initiatives.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards in training or educational settings.
