Optum AI is United Health Group's enterprise AI team. We are AI / ML scientists and engineers with deep expertise in AI / ML engineering for health care. We develop AI / ML solutions for the highest impact opportunities across United Health Group businesses including United Healthcare, Optum Financial, Optum Health, Optum Insight, and Optum Rx. In addition to transforming the health care journey through responsible AI / ML innovation, our charter also includes developing and supporting an enterprise AI / ML development platform.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll architect and deploy scalable cloud platforms that power high-impact AI / ML solutions across United Healthcare, Optum Financial, Optum Health, Optum Insight, and Optum Rx. You'll collaborate with world-class scientists and engineers to build intelligent systems using generative AI, NLP, and LLMs-working with structured and unstructured health care data to solve some of the industry's most complex challenges.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

• Design, development, and deployment of a cloud-based platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Contribute to the technical design and development of the platform, making informed decisions on technology selection, infrastructure, and integration points
• Develop and maintain coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality and maintainable code
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure that the team follows coding standards and best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and UI / UX designers, to ensure seamless integration and excellent user experience
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies, AI / ML frameworks, and best practices, and share insights and knowledge with the team
