IT System Administrator and Data Engineer – £55-65K – Coventry – Permanent

Melbreck Technical is working with a leading designer and manufacturer of engineered solutions with offices throughout the world and a global turnover exceeding $15 billion. Due to continued IT infrastructure expansion, coinciding with increased turnover for the business, they are looking to strengthen their Systems Administration Team.

The Specialist iSeries System Administrator plays a dual role in managing IBM iSeries systems and driving digital IT initiatives across the business. This position involves administering and supporting IBM iSeries environments, performing system analysis, and leading or co‑leading IT projects to deliver technology solutions that meet business needs. The role collaborates closely with Corporate and Division subject matter experts and third‑party IT vendors, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.

• Administer and support IBM iSeries (IBMi) systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability, including out‑of‑hours (OOH) support.
• Manage and execute regular data refreshes to ensure data accuracy and currency across systems and environments.
• Write, maintain, and enhance CL and RPG programmes to automate processes and improve application functionality.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance.
