About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead Agile delivery across complex, multi-supplier cloud environments. You will work with cross-functional engineering and infrastructure teams to drive Agile practices, enhance collaboration, and ensure the effective delivery of secure, high-performance digital solutions.

The role involves coaching delivery teams, removing impediments, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver against strategic outcomes. You will play a key role in enabling continuous improvement, promoting Dev Ops alignment, and ensuring adherence to best practices in scalability, availability, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coach cross-functional Agile teams in Scrum, Kanban, and XP methodologies.

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.

  • Work with Product Owners and stakeholders to manage backlogs, prioritisation, and delivery cadence.

  • Support technical and delivery teams in meeting sprint commitments and removing blockers.

  • Champion the use of Agile metrics and retrospectives to drive measurable improvements.

  • Collaborate with Dev Ops engineers to align Agile delivery with CI/CD pipelines and automation goals.

  • Promote transparency, accountability, and collaboration across distributed teams.

  • Facilitate effective use of collaboration tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.

  • Ensure delivery aligns with agreed NFRs (non-functional requirements) such as cost, scalability, and availability.

  • Contribute to process improvement, risk mitigation, and Agile maturity across delivery teams.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM, CSP-SM) or equivalent Agile certification.

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead in large-scale IT and business transformation programmes (preferably public sector).

  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP) and project management principles.

  • Hands‑on experience working with software development, Dev Ops, and cloud infrastructure teams.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • AWS

    • Cloud Formation or Terraform

    • Nginx

    • Linux administration

    • Packer

    • Collaboration tools (Git, Jira, Confluence, etc.)

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with senior technical and programme-level audiences.

  • Experience working within Agile environments using Continuous Integration (CI) practices.

  • Ability to articulate logical designs and understand how they translate into physical infrastructure.

  • Must be SC Clearable or hold active SC Clearance.

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of:

    • Kubernetes

    • Docker

    • Hashi Corp tools (Packer, Consul, Vault, etc.)

    • Other networking technologies

  • Experience working in cloud-native environments.

  • Practical understanding of non-functional requirements (NFRs) and how to balance cost, scalability, and performance.

  • Experience applying Kanban and Agile maturity assessment techniques.

Clearance Requirement
  • SC Clearance required.

  • Candidates must hold active SC or be eligible for SC clearance.
