Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) is looking for a Shipwide Integrated Wireless Communication System (SIWCS) Field Service Engineer to work in Suffolk, Virginia.

• Provide onboard assessments, grooms and repairs for in‑service SIWCS platforms.
• Provide technical information and reviews to support logistics team to include Tech Manuals, 3M (MRC and MIP) updates, APL updates and Curriculum development.
• Support Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP), Ship‑Acceptance Test Procedure (S‑ATP) and System Operational Verification Test (SOVT).
• Perform inventories of shipset equipment during ATPs.
• Provide technical information for various programmatic briefs.
• Use engineering knowledge and methods to design, install, support, and repair technological tools and equipment at a location other than the employee’s home office (in the field, at a remote office, or at a client site).
• Analyze user needs; build, modify, install, and test products. Troubleshoot errors or malfunctions and perform unscheduled or routine maintenance.
• Create, distribute, and maintain service or training manuals; provide on‑site training.
• Perform work under direct supervision. Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher‑level staff.

• Active Secret clearance.
• Requires BA in a related field.
• Experience with SIWCS Communication Navy School or equivalent US Navy Electronic Training.
• Military experience of 4 years or better in an electronic field.
• Communications technology experience.
