Harris Technologies is looking for a Field Technician to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) within its Field Services organization, primarily in the regions listed above.

Essential Functions
  • This is a support level position requiring a thorough knowledge of the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications‑related systems and equipment, gained through formal education or substantial experience.
  • Responsible for installation, repair, configuration, testing, and preventive maintenance of network equipment, telecommunications equipment, and computers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft or UNIX operating systems and the MS Office Suite. Maintains records on repairs, downtime, changes, and updates.
Network Knowledge / Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of cable connectors and replacements (RJ‑11, RJ‑45, DB‑25, V.35, RS‑449).
  • Excellent knowledge of fiber, multiplexes, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T‑1, SONET, ATM, private line, voice, and data applications.
  • Solid knowledge of power testing, AC, and DC (including 3‑phase AC) and familiarity with 24

    VDC & 48

    VDC power supplies.
  • Experience with network and circuit testing (T1, DS3, digital BERT, analog VG Testing within Bell Core standards).
  • Proficient in using network test equipment such as JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, digital oscilloscopes, Halcyon 704A, and other T1/DS3 test sets.
Computer Knowledge / Skills
  • Perform basic software troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Serve as the point of contact for unresolved problems from the Help Desk or NOC.
  • Install hardware and software, including operating systems and office applications.
  • Provide computer, hardware, software, and network technical support to end users.
  • Assist with setup and configuration of system hardware and software.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+ certifications.
  • Ability to work from home and be available on‑call.
  • Capable of lifting 70 pounds; use ladders or step stools to reach heights up to 10 feet.
  • Willing to travel up to 100% of the time within a 4‑hour drive of base location.
  • Willingness to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs and respond to after‑hours emergency calls.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in high‑stress, high‑visibility environments.
  • Professional appearance.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $63,500 – $117,500. The actual offer may vary based on experience and geographic location. L3
