Job Description
This is an experienced professional position that provides intermediate and complex support for network operations by designing, maintaining and troubleshooting new and existing networks. In addition, this role is designed to provide key operational and design feedback to product management to allow for service improvement. The availability of the network continues to increase in criticality as it is further leveraged to accomplish the missions of the Church.
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

Responsibilities- Configure and modify equipment
- Design and evaluate proof of concept
- Test final solution
- Create bill of materials
- Prepare cut-sheet and installation instructions
- Prepare and stage equipment for deployment
- Implement solution
- Validate installation
- Create problem records
- Respond to and troubleshoot problem records, incidents and service requests
- Deploy upgrades
- Coordinate with implementation teams to implement change
- Replace failed units
- Maintain systems / network management tools
- Plan and participate in maintenance windows
- Provide data center network support as directed
- Provide campus network support and field network support
- Document current design and changes to the environment
- Participate in and provide training
- Provide input for design needs
- Update monitoring end points
- Decommission equipment
- Collect network details for site evaluations
- Participate in P1 and technical peer reviews
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Five years of experience including three years of experience in either network operations or network design
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Functional knowledge of monitoring technologies
- Familiar with one or more scripting languages
- Proficient in most of the following areas:
- Routing and switching
- Wireless technologies
- Data center infrastructure
- Firewall and VPN
- Load balancing and high availability
- Network security best practices
- Solid understanding of networking technologies / concepts
- Experience in designing, implementing, configuring, and administrating Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless equipment in multiple remote offices and small campus locations
- Knowledge of Cisco IOS, site-to-site VPN’s, DMVPN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF
- Knowledge of firewall principles and ACL’s
- Solid understanding of network management tools
- Creative thinking regarding traffic analysis and quality of service
- Professional interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
- Basic understanding of IT business functions
- Understand the value and importance of enterprise process governance
- This job operates in a professional office environment
- To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment
