Potential candidates must reside in the Silicon Valley area.

The successful candidate will work from home and be dispatched to client sites in the Silicon Valley area to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues found in board rooms and conference rooms.

TEKsystems is looking for an AV Service Engineer to service existing customers in the Silicon Valley area. The role requires expertise in audio‑video technology, major AV brands such as Crestron and Biamp, and in‑person troubleshooting of executive board rooms and conference centers. Professionalism and an enterprise‑customer interface are essential.

• Conduct preventative maintenance testing.
• Perform site surveys related to service agreement quotes.
• Write concise service reports and site survey documentation.
• Manage multiple service projects.
• Lead and mentor junior/intermediate level field service technicians.

• Minimum 7‑8 years of experience with AV integration and/or field service.
• Strong AV troubleshooting, especially with Crestron systems.
• Ability to reverse engineer legacy AV systems and debug newly built systems.
• Proficiency with Extron, Biamp, QSC audio DSP, Cisco, Poly, Logitech video conferencing, Luxul, Netgear, Cisco switches, and video wall products (Planar, Unilumen, LG, Samsung, Barco).
• Testing experience with a multimeter.
• Research and specify replacement products.
• Intermediate to advanced AV networking skills.
• Cabling and connectors: crimp and solder.
• Signal flow and low‑voltage electrical concepts (Ohm’s law).
• Customer service skills with regular interface with corporate clients.

• Two‑year diploma from a technical college or equivalent experience.
• CTS Certification highly preferred.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Physical ability to stand, kneel, crouch, climb ladders or scaffolding, and lift more than 50 lbs.

This is a contract position based in San Jose, CA; hybrid. Pay ranges from $40.00 to $55.00 per hour.
