- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data scientists, AI engineers, and analysts.

- Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for the team.
- Develop and execute the data science and AI strategy in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage data science and AI to solve business challenges and improve processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the team in areas such as machine learning, statistical modeling, data analysis, and AI development.
- Review and validate models, algorithms, and solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Work closely with business leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable data science and AI solutions.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of data science and AI initiatives on business outcomes.
- Develop KPIs and metrics to measure the success of projects and team performance.
- Manage staff including hiring, performance management, salary administration, career development, motivation, and teambuilding.
- Budget and Planning:
Create and administer department and project budgets.
- Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a 4‑year degree; or 8 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent experience.
- 10 years direct experience in data science, analytics & modeling.
- 2‑3 years of experience managing people and technical implementations.
- Direct experience solving supply chain issues.
- Direct experience building forecasting models, optimization, time‑series modeling techniques, and advanced machine learning methods.
- Experience designing and developing Big Data Systems including Hadoop, Data Bricks, & Azure platforms.
- Accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function.
- Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
- Decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from senior manager.
- Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers.
- Accountable for the budget, performance and results of a medium‑sized team or multiple small teams.
- Exercises full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination and other personnel actions.
- Addresses issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplines.
Hybrid:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday required office days for Dry Creek/Panorama Office sites;
Monday and Friday work from home.
