Operations Support Engineer (Remote Opportunity)

We are currently looking for an Operations Support Engineer for a 100% remote position supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Lighthouse program. This role provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 application and infrastructure support, analyzes system and pipeline logs, escalates issues as needed, and ensures high availability of services in a fast-paced, cloud-based environment. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.

The candidate must reside within the continental United States.

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for application and infrastructure requests within the VA Lighthouse environment.
• Analyze pipeline logs to detect issues, troubleshoot problems, and escape to appropriate teams when needed.
• Maintain accurate tracking, documentation, and reporting of issues using Salesforce and other ticketing systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support CI/CD processes and system operations.
• Assist in monitoring, incident response, and continuous service improvement activities.
• Apply scripting knowledge (Python, Type Script) to automate routine tasks and streamline support workflows.
• Support API integrations and cloud environments, including AWS and Kubernetes.
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organization, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder with 3+ years of U.S. residency.
• 2+ years of experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 application or infrastructure support.
• Experience using Salesforce and/or other ticketing tools for incident and request management.
• Ability to analyze logs, investigate issues, and escape appropriately.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Type Script.
• Working knowledge of APIs, AWS services, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and Git Hub.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

• Experience supporting federal or healthcare IT environments.
• Familiarity with Dev Ops principles and cloud-native operations.
• Understanding of incident, change, and problem management processes.
