Arch Reinsurance is seeking a Data Governance and Metadata Analyst with a strong business analysis and insurance background to join our dynamic Data Strategy team
—a group dedicated to transforming how data is managed and leveraged across the organization.
This is a hybrid role based in Farmington, CT
, with in-office collaboration every Wednesday. For exceptional candidates, we are also open to a fully remote arrangement anywhere in the U.S., with a strong preference for those located on the East Coast.
- Operationalize Data Governance:
Help bring our Data Governance and Data Management framework to life by embedding best practices into project workflows and everyday work. - Consult on Projects:
Partner with cross-functional project teams to ensure alignment with enterprise data governance standards. - Support Governance Technologies:
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of platforms such as Data Catalog (e.g., Collibra, Alation), Master/Reference Data Management (MDM/RDM), and Data Quality tools. - Drive Metadata Excellence:
Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain accurate and accessible metadata across systems. - Enable Reference Data Standardization:
Provide data and business analysis support to harmonize reference data across the enterprise.
- Partner with project teams to ensure alignment with Arch’s Data Governance and Data Management framework.
- Guide on data standards, policies, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review project deliverables for compliance with governance requirements.
- Support the rollout and adoption of data governance processes across business units.
- Embed governance practices into daily operations and project workflows.
- Maintain documentation of governance procedures and data standards.
- Assist in the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of Data Catalog, MDM/RDM, and Data Quality platforms.
- Monitor platform usage and performance and support user onboarding and training.
- Collaborate with data stewards and owners to capture and maintain metadata; ensure it is accurate, complete, and accessible.
- Support metadata enrichment and classification efforts.
- Conduct data analysis and business analysis to support reference data harmonization.
- Identify inconsistencies and gaps in reference data across systems.
- Work with stakeholders to define and implement standard reference data values.
- Engage with business and technical stakeholders to understand data needs and challenges.
- Facilitate communication between data governance, IT, and business teams.
- Promote awareness and adoption of governance tools and practices.
- Metadata Management:
Understanding of metadata concepts and experience with data cataloging. - Data Governance Tools:
Familiarity with platforms for MDM/RDM, data quality, and governance workflows. - Business Analysis:
Ability to understand business requirements and translate that knowledge into metadata for Data Governance Tools and Data Management Initiatives. - Data Analysis:
Ability to analyze data sets to identify inconsistencies, gaps, data requirements, and opportunities for standardization. - SQL or Querying
Skills:
Basic to intermediate ability to query data for validation and analysis. - Data Modeling Concepts:
Understanding of data structures, relationships, and reference data domains. - Governance & Compliance Knowledge.
