The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme is administered by UNDP and follows all UNDP rules and regulations. UNV promotes volunteerism to support peace and development worldwide. Within UNV, the Information and Communication Technology Section (ICTS) manages all ICT on‑premises and cloud datacenters, cloud platforms and services, business applications, corporate websites, helpdesk support, video conferencing, security services, hardware, software, network, and telecommunications services.

• Azure Cloud and Dev Ops support and development operations.
• Cloud Infrastructure & Kubernetes Management: support management of applications in Kubernetes environments, oversight of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters, and maintenance of various environments.
• CI/CD Pipeline Administration: design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): use Terraform or similar tools to provision and manage cloud infrastructure.
• Monitoring & Performance Optimization: monitor Azure-based infrastructure components and analyze system metrics and logs.
• Automated Alerting Systems: configure robust monitoring and alert notification system using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, etc.
• Issue Analysis & Troubleshooting: analyze issues, document root causes and collaborate with development team and vendors to resolve problems.
• Continuous Improvement: maintain data across subsystems, automate repetitive tasks, and suggest improvements.
• Service Desk Support: provide tier‑3 support, root‑cause analysis, and incident documentation.
• Infrastructure Change Requests: propose and implement improvements or reconfigurations based on recurring service desk inquiries.
• Knowledge Transfer & Article Creation: draft and update knowledge base articles and SOPs for common issues.
• Documentation and Guides: contribute to standard user documentation, technical guidelines and operational manuals.
• Lessons Learned & Best Practices: capture and disseminate lessons learned from operations and support incidents.
• Community Engagement: participate in knowledge networks and communities of practice within UNV/UNDP.

The role works under the direct supervision of the Azure & Development Operations Specialist.
