OverviewThe BI Analyst / Business Intelligence Engineer 2 solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision‑makers.
Responsibilities- Develop and optimize data models, ETL processes, and dashboards to track key performance indicators.
- Support the team’s ability to analyze customer, provider, and operational data, ensuring actionable insights for leadership.
- Automate and improve reporting processes, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy and predictability.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Product, Finance, Operations) to ensure data consistency, governance, and alignment with enterprise standards.
- 5+ years of technical experience in healthcare data analysis.
- 2+ years of experience in SQL, SAS, or other data systems.
- Comprehensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation), PowerPoint, Visio, and Access.
- Expertise in assessing complex data sets and performing root‑cause analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Experience with data mining and predictive modeling techniques.
- Ability to use data to drive business outcomes and decisions.
- Experience in Medicare/Medicaid, CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services), or other federally regulated healthcare programs.
- Experience with Humana systems, specifically Service Fund.
- Experience with Power BI for creating data visualizations.
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Understanding of organizational operations and the ability to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Remote / work asional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be required.
Typical business hours:
Monday‑Friday, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. All associates must start their day between 6 AM‑9 AM EST.
As part of our hiring process, we use a third‑party vendor, Hire Vue, to conduct pre‑recorded voice and SMS text interviews. These interviews typically last between 5 – 15 minutes.
Home Office Requirements- Internet download speed of at least 25 Mbps and upload speed of at least 10 Mbps (wired or wireless).
- Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections are only accepted with leadership approval.
- Home or hybrid associates in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota receive a bi‑weekly payment for internet expense.
- Associates receive necessary telephone equipment to meet job business requirements.
- Workspace must be dedicated and free from interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
