Job OverviewProvide Network Engineering services in support of modernization efforts for TDM Elimination for multiple programs supporting the US Coast Guard.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties &
Job Functions:
- Configure network infrastructure, maintaining its lifecycle, and ensuring optimal performance.
- Install and configure CISCO Routers and Switches.
- Work with IT manager to provide the necessary components to successfully operate the network topology and manage the equipment in a secure manner that abides by the Authority-To-Operate (ATO).
- Work with various devices to include Linux, Mac, Windows, and Cisco switches and firewalls or the equivalent.
- Deploy and maintained routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF) across 10+ remote offices.
- Configured VLANs and trunk ports on Cisco Catalyst 3850/9300 switches for segmented traffic.
- Participated in network cutovers and migrations involving Layer 3 routing and firewall rules.
- Developed network diagrams and documentation for infrastructure updates and disaster recovery plans.
- Coordinated with Tier 1/2 support for escalated troubleshooting involving packet loss and connectivity issues.
- Provide technical support connecting IT equipment provided by contract.
- Evaluating network performance issues and installing and testing equipment, connections, and firewalls.
- Implement and maintain ACLs, static routes, and VLAN segmentation.
- Implementing, monitoring, and evaluating security protocols.
- Supporting the Wireless secure Commercial network as well as assist users with creating credentials to be able to access the secure network.
- Testing, evaluating, and installing network enhancements to regularly update the network.
- Keeping accurate documentation and records on the network.
- Participating in educational activities regularly to keep your knowledge up-to-date.
- Maintaining security protocols for the existing managed network equipment including upgrading security software on a routine basis, and the same policy shall be applied for any newly installed managed network equipment.
- Conducting security scans of all media for malicious code before the media is used in the SW environment using best business processes.

Mandatory:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have a Secret clearance or higher.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Eight8) years of related experience.
- Security+ certification.
- Experience with Cisco switches and routers.
- Experience with Window Server 2016, LINUX, VMware vCenter, Hyper-V.
- Security: PKI, SCCM, DoD Security Standards, IA Compliance.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record upon request.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
- Up to 20% CONUS/OCONUS travel.
