SummaryThe Epic Analyst is responsible for providing analysis, build, implementation, support, maintenance, development and coordination of activities of assigned applications and acts as a liaison between vendors, teams, customers and technical staff. Should be knowledgeable about policies, procedures, and operations in a healthcare setting. Participates in regular day-to-day communication with other project teams and works with vendors and community based Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure the application build will fit the organization’s and community integration needs.
Participates in the development of workflows, data collection and analysis, reporting, and other technical issues associated with the use of the application software. Participates in developing and documenting the standard build procedures that will be used in conjunction with other vendor applications.
- Analysis / Build:
Participates in analysis, build, testing, documentation and implementation of optimization or projects related to informatics. Interact, plan and schedule activities with customers to determine information needs and objectives; assess current state of workflows and application configurations; identify and document end user needs and requirements; build and test application software to meet identified needs and requirements; assure that a consistent approach is followed throughout the project. - Project Plan / Lead:
Project plan development, maintenance and adherence to expectations and cost constraints; liaise across departments, technical staff and/or vendors to define and meet objectives; ensure realistic timelines; consider cost and resource constraints; monitor and report progress; provide formal status reports; escalate issues as appropriate. - Maintenance:
Ensure timely completion of routine maintenance for assigned applications; coordinate maintenance development, troubleshooting, and testing activities; facilitate enhancement requests; serve as day-to-day contact for vendors during maintenance/outages. - Change Control / Testing:
Ensure smooth transitions from build to test to production; follow change control policies; create/update test scripts; document workflow and software changes; communicate upcoming changes; follow up on issues through resolution. - Training:
Communicate changes to Trainers and end users; ensure training environments are consistent; collaborate to update training materials and tips for end users; share changes via intranet and official communication channels. - Problem Solving / Support:
Demonstrates knowledge and troubleshooting skills; follow defined procedures; document and track incidents; coordinate with vendors; propose and evaluate enhancements; meet SLA metrics for incident and service requests. - Reporting / Dashboards / Data Extract and Exchange:
Determine reporting needs with customers; schedule and develop reports, dashboards and data extracts; maintain consistent approaches to reporting processes.
- Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Epic Certification required
- 3+ years of experience working in a Healthcare setting with EHR systems in an analytical or implementation role required
- 3 years of Epic Analyst experience
