We are seeking a skilled and dependable Network Administrator with strong leadership abilities to lead a four member team and oversee the daily operation and maintenance of our IT infrastructure. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for ensuring network uptime, system security, support coverage, nightly backups, and hardware/software purchasing. The ideal candidate will combine hands‑on technical expertise with excellent organizational and leadership skills to maintain a secure, high‑performing Microsoft‑based environment, including Active Directory, SQL Server, and VMware systems.
KeyJob Duties
- Ensure continuous network uptime and system performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and related network services.
- Manage and maintain VMware virtual infrastructure and Windows Server environments, including Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint and SCCM.
- Oversee SQL Server performance, backups, and data security.
- Monitor and verify nightly backups for all critical systems, ensuring data integrity and recoverability.
- Maintain and monitor servers, firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points to ensure security and optimal performance.
- Evaluate, recommend, and manage purchasing of network hardware, software, and IT supplies within approved budgets.
- Maintain accurate records of network configurations, licensing, backups, and asset inventory.
- Keep current on computer industry trends and emerging network technology.
- Lead and coordinate IT support coverage, ensuring prompt and effective user support across all systems.
- Coordinate system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery testing.
- Lead or assist with IT projects to improve reliability, performance, and security.
- Mentor junior IT team members and promote a proactive, service‑focused culture.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in network or systems administration within a Microsoft‑based environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments.
- Proficiency in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
- Experience managing SQL Server and VMware vSphere/ESXi environments.
- In‑depth understanding of TCP/IP, VPNs, VLANs, and firewall configurations.
- Proven leadership and coordination skills in IT operations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across teams and departments.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills under pressure.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining secure, reliable systems.
- Effective at prioritizing workload and managing multiple concurrent initiatives.

- Location:
On‑Site - Schedule:
Full‑time, Monday‑Friday; occasional after‑hours or weekend work for maintenance or emergencies. - Light physical effort. Intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. Comfortable working conditions.
- Considerable exposure to stressful situations as a result of human behavior and the demands of the position.
- Performance: 85% of time documented in key job duties.
- Attendance:
Fully cover assigned shift unless prior authorization obtained or extenuating circumstances communicated to immediate supervisor using set protocol. Be prepared to be accountable for sick and personal leave. - Attainment of Goals:
Prioritize work assignments based on agency goals and supervisor input. - Communication:
Communicate progress on tasks and job‑related concerns to supervisor in a professional and timely manner. Maintain appropriate communication with outside community partners that always positively reflects on the development team, provided services, and staff of WHS. - Accuracy:
