Overview
The Sr. Platform System Administrator is responsible for the design, installation, upgrades, automation and maintenance of server platforms and operating systems. This includes proven ability to execute system upgrades, maintain current patch levels, and troubleshoot complex issues as they arise. The candidate must have a proven track record of administering Linux operating systems. The individual should also be able to support the full product lifecycle from rack and stack to final decommission of assets.
Responsibilities- Design, install, upgrade, automate, and maintain server platforms and operating systems.
- Execute system upgrades, maintain patch levels, troubleshoot complex issues.
- Support the full product lifecycle from rack and stack to final decommission of assets.
- Be available on‑call 24x7 on a rotational basis; occasional weekend and non‑business hour activities.
- Remote work possible after a 6‑month probationary period.
- 5+ years’ experience as a System Administrator in an enterprise environment or comparable certification and education.
- Proven track record of administering Linux operating systems.
- Expertise in Linux operating system administration, maintenance, and solid understanding of automation platforms, preferably Ansible.
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and experience administering Windows Server operating systems.
- Experience administering Exchange Online, Power Apps forms, and Azure Dev Ops.
- Experience administering Cisco UCS blade server hardware, Cloud Infrastructure.
- Conceptual knowledge of ITIL.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Self‑starter with ambition, positive attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience; preferred certifications:
Linux, Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, ITIL v4.
