Base pay range$85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
The Senior Systems Administrator is a highly skilled IT professional responsible for managing and optimizing one of the company’s core technology domains (Networking, Servers & Storage, or Endpoints & User Administration). The position requires deep technical expertise and strong problem-solving ability to ensure system reliability, security, and efficiency. The Senior Systems Administrator acts as a Subject Matter Expert, designing and implementing system improvements, and collaborates with peers and technical leadership to support the organization’s technology roadmap.
Key Responsibilities- Own the networking, servers, and storage, or endpoint management technical domain, ensuring availability, reliability, and security.
- Design, implement, and document technical solutions and configurations.
- Have the technical ability to manage one or more business applications or services.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and backup operations.
- Execute change management procedures for updates, patches, and system maintenance.
- Collaborate and effectively communicate with leadership, employees, and peers to ensure system integration and consistent IT standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related, or 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems or network administration.
- Expertise in Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs), Servers & Storage (Windows Server, virtualization, backup systems), and/or Endpoint Management (Active Directory, Intune, MDM, workstation imaging).
- Strong understanding of IT security and data protection principles.
- Experience with IT documentation, change control, and disaster recovery processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and time management skills.
- Microsoft, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, and/or CompTIA Network+/Security+ certified.
- Experience in healthcare, retail, or multi-location environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL or structured IT service delivery practices.
- Primarily office-based, with occasional remote work flexibility.
- Occasional after-hours maintenance and rotational on-call responsibilities.
- Collaborative, service-oriented IT team supporting multiple locations.
