Data Analyst, Data Scientist
Description
Summary:
Decision Analysts are responsible for evaluating business operations using statistical and financial methods to ensure that testing, learning, and production goals are met. This position is also responsible for providing insights about our customers and prospects to drive business strategy and work collaboratively with our internal partners to develop innovative, data‑driven growth strategies across the entire bank, including Consumer Deposits, Small Business, Home Lending, Credit Card, Auto, and Commercial.
Apply machine learning, data mining, and visualization techniques to internal and external data to make accurate and actionable analyses in a timely fashion.
Plan and execute multiple analytic projects at once in response to business needs.
Synthesize findings into senior level presentations that convey insights and recommendations through compelling storytelling, while maintaining a balance between the big picture and mastery of details.
Champion corporate policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Work with management to develop and apply effective risk management processes and controls.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Decision Sciences, Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in data mining, programming, or statistical analysis.
Advanced degree (Master's, Ph.D., JD, etc.).
Experience working with data mining models, structures, theories, principles, and practices, including machine learning, statistics and text mining techniques.
Experience with at least one data mining / statistical analysis tools such as R, python, or SAS.
Experience with business intelligence and data mining tools such as Business Objects, Microstrategy, Tableau, Qlickview, and SAS Enterprise Guide/Miner in a corporate or academic environment.
Experience with SQL queries of large databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Teradata, and Hadoop.
Experience developing and applying statistical or machine learning methods in a corporate environment through applications such as R, python, SAS, SPSS, S, S-PLUS, or Stata.
Exempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (No = eligible for overtime pay).
