Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks an experienced Cyber Security SME to provide strategic planning, policy development, and advisory services within highly classified environments, including Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) operations. The SME will collaborate with the U.S. Space Force Space Based Interceptor (SBI) Program Management Office and multiple DoD agencies, ensuring the protection of sensitive technologies.

This role is based in Huntsville, Alabama or Colorado Springs, Colorado, with limited remote work and occasional travel within the continental United States.

• Develop and enforce strategic and operational security policies and guidance for protecting classified information and critical national security projects.
• Advise clients on current security policies and procedures for acquiring and maintaining SAP and SCI access.
• Provide expertise on accreditation and connectivity between classified networks.
• Collaborate with security offices, company leadership, and external organizations to implement countermeasures and reduce vulnerabilities.
• Advise customers on Assessment and Authorization of IT systems.
• Identify, report, and address deficiencies to support regulatory compliance.
• Assist planners in recognizing Operations Security (OPSEC) indicators and implementing OPSEC measures.
• Interpret and implement security guidance for classification management and safeguarding requirements.
• Help develop and deliver SAP and SCI security education and training programs tailored to unit needs.

• 12+ years of technical experience in information technology, cybersecurity, and/or systems engineering.
• Background in industrial, personnel, physical, and cyber security programs.
• Experience with cloud and containerization technologies.
• Hands‑on SAP experience within the past 8 years.
• Demonstrated risk assessment and mitigation for network security.
• Deep understanding of ITSC 705 requirements and related technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (12 years of experience) OR Master’s degree with 10 years of experience.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity needs throughout the system life cycle.
• Experience implementing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
• Experience working at a government client site.
• Cloud security implementation experience.
• Familiarity with NSA requirements for COMSEC.
• Application of system security engineering processes to varied client programs.
• Strong independent work habits and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Project management skills with the ability to drive projects to completion.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Active Top‑Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• SAP eligibility highly desired.

• Position available in Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.
• Remote work is very limited.
• Up to 20% travel within the continental United States may be required.

Competitive pay ranges from $120,000 to $190,000 per year, depending on location and contract terms. MTSI offers a full range of medical, financial, and additional benefits in accordance with the position and location.
