The job

In this role as Innovation Grants Consultant
, you focus on writing high-impact grant applications for innovative technology companies. Your core responsibility is to shape innovation projects by structuring complex technical information and business ideas, and describing their business case, technical workplan and investment approach in fundable, strategically sound dossiers. Your key activities during such an innovation project include:

• Write detailed technical & scientific workplans including step-by-step task descriptions and the related technical objectives, risks and challenges.
• Analyze and critically evaluate company information and project documentation.
• Identify critical gaps in information necessary for funding applications.
• Formulate probing questions to extract deeper insights.
• Assist in finding feasible and accurate creative solutions to fill information gaps.
• Conduct competitive and technological research and analyses for clients.
• Consolidate and structure information into strategically sound go-to-market plans and business cases.

Your day is varied: you research new technologies and markets, and use this knowledge strategically to write innovation grant proposals. You consult with the Qualitators team and the client, write the grant proposal and use your helicopter view to ensure both the technical and business sides of the file fit together seamlessly. You constantly scan the grant landscape and build knowledge about new grant instruments.

Your role is therefore primarily substantive and focused on building expertise.

• You have at least 3 years of experience with grants through Horizon Europe, EIC, LIFE, Innovation Fund, VLAIO or other R&D focused grants programs.
• You enjoy thinking on a conceptual level and love diving deep into the latest technologies.
• Thanks to your background in exact, applied or computer science, you can easily follow in-depth technological discussions - or you have acquired enough technical baggage along the way to understand complex material.
• You have experience conveying technological content in a sharp, coherent and structured way. You get energy from detailing complex cases with a
  consistent storyline.

• You know what it's like to work in a team and can also work on files independently.
• You like analytical puzzles, like to challenge ideas and dare to think creatively to achieve a strong end result.
• You can plan well and are good at keeping an overview, even when working on different files at the same time.
• You are not afraid of deadlines.
