Wieland is hiring a Learning Technology Specialist. The Learning Technology Specialist will be responsible for ensuring a seamless learning experience for employees by maintaining accurate data in the Learning Management System (LMS), providing first level technical troubleshooting for system end users, and identifying opportunities to optimize learning processes. This role reports to the Manager, Learning Technology, & Instructional Design.
This position may be hired at the Learning Specialist I (entry-level) or Learning Specialist II (more experienced) level, depending on the candidate's experience, capabilities, and overall fit for the role.
This role is based at Wieland's North American Headquarters in Louisville, KY; however, hybrid, onsite, or fully remote work arrangements may be considered based on the selected candidate's experience, role alignment, and business needs.
ResponsibilitiesLearning Technology Specialist Responsibilities:
Maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) to efficiently manage and deliver learning and training content, track learner progress, and ensure regional compliance with training requirements.
- Maintain established, regional training curricula and learning assignments to ensure compliance.
- Perform key weekly or bi-weekly audits to ensure compliance and minimize training gaps, including but not limited to position audits, new hire audits, and location change audits.
- Maintain and deliver standard training reports and analytics for departments and leaders, under the direction of the Manager, Learning Technology & Instructional Design.
- Assign and assist with updating and re-versioning training curricula requirements in the learning management system (LMS) for intended audiences.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the LMS and assist with configuration and maintenance tasks as directed.
Provide technical support for end users and Regional Local LMS Administrators across multiple functional areas, helping to ensure alignment with organizational learning strategies, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement in learning technologies and methodologies.
- Act as primary technical support contact for system users, including monitoring the L&D inbox and Matrix 42 ticket queue, and escalating complex issues to the appropriate teams.
- Liaise between end users, the IT department, HRIS, and other key stakeholders in technical support processes.
- Onboard & orient new Local System Admins to key Cornerstone functionalities such as Reporting 2.0, Learning Assignment Tool, and Express Class.
Maintain content in Learning Management System (LMS) and other relevant content authoring tools or key online resource hubs.
- Upload, organize, and manage digital learning materials within specified naming conventions and vendor guidelines, ensuring sources are correctly categorized and visible to appropriate audiences.
- Assist in developing, deploying, and curating training materials and Orange step guides to users on how to effectively use the LMS.
- Provide support for eLearning design and updates as capabilities allow.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization's objectives and the Learning and Development functional strategic initiatives.
Learning Technology Specialist Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities and time sensitive deliverables.
- Minimum (2) years of experience in data management or a technical administrative role, preferably in learning and development.
- Practical knowledge and application of relationship data bases and data management; previous experience with Cornerstone LMS preferred.
- Experience in building training guides, work instructions, or reference documentation preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field or equivalent experience specific to learning management system administration.
