Service Desk Specialist – Description

Shift Options are:

  • Saturday – Wednesday 7:00a – 11:00a
  • Saturday – Wednesday 3:00p – 7:00p

This is a part‑time, remote position but candidates must go onsite for 2 weeks of training at one of the facilities in Seattle, Spokane, or Yakima.

The Service Desk Specialist is a vital part of the contact between customers and Information Services, exemplifying a professional demeanor and quality customer service in a 24/7 environment. The role involves providing hardware, software and network support primarily via phone, solving technology operational and application problems that customers face, assessing needs, troubleshooting problems to assure technical excellence and patient safety, and serving as a central point of contact and escalation for customer needs relating to personal computers, peripherals, software, network and system needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hardware/software/network support to customers via phone and other channels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technology operational and application problems.
  • Assess customer needs and provide timely solutions.
  • Act as escalation point for PC, peripheral, software, network and system issues.
  • Work under supervision and across various shifts to support a 24/7 environment.
Minimum Requirements
  • Two years of experience in a technical customer service environment involving support or installation of software and hardware.
  • Specific experience may be substituted for education.
  • A+ Certification or equivalent certifications.
  • Associate’s degree in healthcare or computer science;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Understanding of the incident management process, monitoring systems and managing alerts.
  • Experience in an ITIL‑aligned organization with a mature environment.
  • Preferred experience from a Service Operations team or analyst with monitoring systems experience.
  • Comfortable with written and verbal communication and able to respond quickly.
