- Build and manage enterprise‑wide architecture frameworks across applications, data, integrations, security, and infrastructure.
- Own and evolve architectural governance processes, technology standards, reference architectures, and documentation.
- Lead architecture oversight for major programs including digital commerce (Shopify), ERP modernization, CRM evolution, data platform modernization, BI/analytics lifecycle, and cloud adoption.
- Evaluate and approve new technologies, vendor solutions, integrations, and modernization initiatives based on scalability, cost, alignment, and future‑state direction.
- Partner with product, engineering, and leadership teams to translate requirements into high‑level and detailed technical designs.
- Provide architectural leadership in platform evolution including composable architecture, microservices, APIs, event‑driven systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Serve as a technical advisor to senior leadership on technology investments, system interdependencies, and risk management.
- Mentor engineering and architecture talent, fostering consistency, reusability, and best practices across teams.
Core Requirements
- 8–12+ years of architecture or senior technical leadership experience, ideally in enterprise retail or multi‑channel commerce environments.
- Strong background designing and integrating large‑scale systems including:
- Shopify or enterprise eCommerce platforms
- CRM, ERP, OMS, POS, and fulfillment systems
- Proven expertise with modern architecture patterns:
- API‑first / microservices
- Event‑driven or pub/sub integration
- Cloud architecture (Azure or AWS preferred)
- Composable or MACH frameworks strongly beneficial
- Experience developing architecture governance models, standards, and architecture roadmaps.
- Strong understanding of privacy, regulatory compliance, identity management, and security frameworks (SOC2, PCI, GDPR, CCPA).
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate vendor platforms, make build‑vs‑buy decisions, and lead enterprise technology selection.
Preferred Experience
- Experience modernizing legacy or monolithic retail environments to cloud‑first, API‑driven models.
- Familiarity with Dev Ops, CI/CD, secure SDLC, observability, and automation frameworks.
- Experience with enterprise integration platforms (e.g., Mule Soft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services, or equivalent).
