Job Summary

Epic Orders Application Analyst acts as a vital link between operations and information technology, ensuring that Epic functions seamlessly. This role demands an understanding of healthcare processes and technical systems. Analysts translate operational needs into system functionality, helping to maintain system integrity, promote automation and efficiency, and improve user experience across the organization. A significant portion of an analyst’s day is devoted to resolving break‑fix issues and performing routine maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting issues, applying Epic quarterly updates, working with Epic technical support, and validating workflows to prevent disruptions or follow‑ups.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the operational effectiveness of enterprise applications, addressing user needs while assisting with incidents, updates, and upgrades to maintain system health.
• Provide ongoing analysis and troubleshooting support of application system components to meet clinical and business requirements.
• Perform application testing and participate in integrated testing of current and newly released vendor functionality to ensure system reliability.
• Contribute to updates, upgrades, and projects within and across applications and develop application‑specific solutions.
• Provide 24/7 customer support for applications within accountability.
• If supporting an Epic application, obtain EPIC certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Education Required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical application and system experience in design, build, integration, and activation.
  • Strong understanding of Emergency Services, Infection Disease OR Orders, and Provider in the Epic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Teams, and Service Now.
  • Experience mapping and documenting workflows using Visio.
  • Experience with ASAP, OR Care Everywhere, OR Orders, or Bugsy.
  • Clinical background is highly preferred.
• License and Certification: EPIC certification preferred.
