Nature of WorkUnder general supervision of the Director of IT, the IT Enterprise Applications Supervisor performs high-level functions of system administration to ensure the reliability, health, and security of City of Rochester enterprise business software applications. This position plays a critical role in providing leadership and visioning for the IT enterprise applications section of the IT team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing operations and direction of IT Analyst work, leading the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise business software applications, providing excellent team leadership, and other duties as assigned or necessary.
Pay2026 starting salary is $107,123 to $126,027, depending on qualifications with advancement to $157,533.
ScheduleThe typical work schedule 8 AM - 5 PM Monday through Friday with evening and weekend work based on the timing of after hours and emergency work. Remote work is available on a hybrid basis.

ResponsibilitiesManage operations and direction of IT Analyst work
- Supervise IT Analysts by delegating tasks and work assignments.
- Plan and oversee daily tasks and activities including monitoring and balancing workloads.
- Recommend and coordinate tasks and staff assignments to projects.
- Assess need for and provide or coordinate training needed to accomplish tasks and projects.
- Complete higher‑level, complex projects and support completion of delegated projects.
Lead the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise business software applications
- Work closely in collaboration with project stakeholders to gather customer requirements and assist with technical recommendations to meet those requirements.
- Recommend and coordinate improvements in enterprise business software applications.
- Primary resource for high‑level server tasks impacting enterprise applications.
- Assist in positioning the City of Rochester to effectively utilize state‑of‑the‑art technology.
- Provide recommendations for the implementation of new technology.
- Stay abreast of current and upcoming trends in the IT industry.
