Description
The National Forest Foundation (NFF) is pleased to offer an Exempt, Full‑Time, 2 Year Term position to a candidate who will support the organization’s success by strengthening the operational alignment and functionality of its legacy conservation investment data systems and providing new system planning and implementation support. This position is a term role designed to support the successful completion of system migration and related deliverables.
Upon completion of these deliverables, there may be an opportunity for the role to transition to a permanent position based on organizational needs at that time.
As the official national partner to the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), the National Forest Foundation was chartered by Congress in 1993. Today, the NFF advances forest resiliency, healthy watersheds and wildlife habitat, and recreation for all by working with communities and organizations across the country. The Foundation has grown significantly in the last few years in programmatic impact, revenue and support, and organizational capacity.
NFF leads with impact, deploying roughly 90% of its expenses towards projects and programs across the country’s 193‑million‑acre National Forest System. NFF is forward‑thinking and innovative, with ambitious strategies and goals to advance and prepare forests for a new economy.
The Database Operations Analyst reports to the Conservation Operations Manager. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing the system infrastructure and operational processes that support NFF’s conservation funding strategies, and will play a critical transitional role in structuring, maintaining, and preparing the organization’s current legacy database for migration to a future SaaS‑based conservation investment data system. This position will ensure the integrity, accessibility, and strategic utility of data related to grants, contracts, and project life cycles.
The Analyst will collaborate closely with Conservation Operations, technology, field programs, and finance teams to ensure seamless data coordination, system integration, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. The role includes training staff, generating reports and dashboards, and supporting leadership with data‑driven insights. A mindset of relentless optimism will be essential in navigating system development, cross‑team collaboration, and continuous improvement.
