Position: Associate IT Director
Location: Indianapolis, IN

Responsibilities

• IT Operations & Infrastructure
• Oversee enterprise IT systems across headquarters and 20+ remote offices.
• Oversee server, storage, virtualization, and network operations.
• Ensure high performance and scalability of our complex Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), including GPU workloads for design applications such as Bentley and Autodesk.
• Lead upgrades, migrations, and system integrations across cloud and on-premises platforms.
• Cybersecurity & Compliance
• Implement and maintain strong security measures to protect company and client data.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, including projects involving sensitive government contracts.
• Partner with security and compliance teams to enforce IT policies, monitoring, and incident response.
• Collaboration & Business Alignment
• Work closely with business leaders, project managers, and technical staff to align IT services with organizational needs.
• Drive adoption and optimization of collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint).
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to improve efficiency and support growth.
• Leadership & Staff Management
• Supervise, mentor, and develop IT team members, fostering professional growth and high performance.
• Provide leadership and direction in the absence of the IT Director, ensuring continuity of operations and decision-making.
• Oversee vendor and contractor relationships, including negotiation of service-level agreements and contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong technical background in:
  • Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Online.
  • Virtualization and VDI environments.
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Networking, firewalls, and enterprise security best practices.
  • Familiarity with AEC industry workflows and applications such as Bentley, Autodesk, and other design platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and vendor management skills.
