Network Security Engineer - Work from home

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer within the Security Architecture and Engineering team, part of our client’s Technology Information Security organization. This individual will be focusing on complex, enterprise level security and networking projects, applying security governance. This individual will be joining a team of 3 including the team lead. Their typical day to day responsibilities are described below.

• Half of the role focuses on firewalls. Evaluate incoming firewall rule requests, conduct risk assessments, compare against policies and standards, and approve or request changes. Coach stakeholders on compliance and exceptions. Ensure firewall baselines and configurations are compliant, following frameworks CIS and NIST 800‑53.
• Implement continuous monitoring for security baselines using Fire Man and Skybox, aimed at automating baseline configuration checks for different network devices.
• Assist with domain white‑listing using Cisco Umbrella, experience with web proxy for URL white‑listing, and build custom policy sets within Netscope.

• Network security, information security, Palo Alto, firewall experience.
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation.
• Preferable Cisco experience; financial services experience would be an advantage.
