Job Summary: The Associate Engineer, Field Services is part of the Managed Services team responsible for providing onsite support for multiple clients and handling escalated inquiries for the client’s products and services. The ideal candidate is a dedicated, relentless problem solver who applies logic and an instinctive approach to resolving technical issues. Most clients rely on us as their sole technological resource, so this person should enjoy learning new technologies on the fly while solving diverse technical challenges.
Strong understanding of best practices, foresight in evaluating potential outcomes, and the ability to manage stress during client‑down situations are essential, as is delivering excellent customer service.
- Travel onsite to client offices as defined; days not spent traveling will be worked onsite at IT Solutions or, at times, working from home.
- Install and configure workstations, laptops, printers, routers, and other peripheral equipment.
- Answer technical service calls, create customer tickets, and provide phone and onsite support to end users with an enthusiastic attitude.
- Triage customer issues, determine root cause, and document issues in a timely manner.
- Create tickets and escale to appropriate groups.
- Analyze logs, track problem nature and resolution, and perform all levels of routing and incident analysis.
- Collaborate with advanced technician groups and vendors to escalated technical issues, provide client updates, and drive incidents to resolution.
- Work regularly with client’s internal service and project coordinators who assign tickets.
- Confident and comfortable with client‑facing activity.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal team members, customers, and stakeholders.
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to self‑manage in a fast‑paced environment.
- Passion for solving problems and driving continuous improvement.
- Understanding of all Microsoft 365 offerings and a basic understanding of Active Directory.
- Ability to troubleshoot and configure hardware such as printers and laptops.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and climb up step ladders.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 3 years in a helpdesk role, triaging reported issues and incidents.
- 2+ years as a Network Administrator installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network, data center, and security technologies.
- Experience managing or troubleshooting Windows desktop and Windows Server (2012‑Current) versions.
- Experience managing or troubleshooting Office 365 Exchange online and Microsoft Exchange 2013‑Current.
- Experience with firewalls and VPNs such as Cisco Any Connect, Meraki, Sonic Wall, Fortinet, etc.
- Experience with ticketing systems such as Connect Wise Manage.
- Experience with networking products (Ubiquiti, Ruckus, Aruba), virtualization (VMware), Dell, and Adobe products.
- Proficiency in remote management tools and PC/workstation migration and setup.
- CompTIA A+, Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS certifications, Cisco certifications (not required but a plus).
- Proficient in a recent version of Microsoft Office suite.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, with mileage reimbursed for travel across the Anaheim, CA area.
This position is eligible for a base hourly salary of $27 – $31 USD plus bonus opportunities.
