Job SummaryUsing industry best practices for project management and a solid knowledge of the system development life cycle, the Technical Project Manager II plans, directs, and coordinates Information Technology projects to ensure project goals are achieved on schedule, within budget, and are successfully completed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Defines project objectives and scope, and authorizes the project charter.
- Co‑ordinates requirements, technical analysis, design, and documentation.
- Develops and maintains the project plan, identifying deliverables, milestones, and tasks.
- Gathers requirements, writes functional specifications, and develops test plans.
- Determines staffing requirements and allocates resources for each project phase.
- Communicates project plans, assigns duties, and outlines scope of authority to the team.
- Ensures quality assurance processes are in place and followed.
- Facilitates status meetings, tracks progress, identifies risks, and mitigates them.
- Manages project issues, communicates progress to stakeholders, and ensures timely resolution.
- Prepares and distributes project status reports to management and clients.
- Ensures project documentation is complete and obtains necessary approvals throughout the lifecycle.
- Oversees delivery of all project components.
- Creates and executes the deployment plan, handles post‑go‑live issues.
- Identifies and provides training for business users and operations personnel.
- Coordinates configuration management and deployment, and interfaces with other departments.
- Mentors less experienced project managers.
- Builds and maintains relationships with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
Education & Experience – BS/BA and 6+ years of experience (or equivalent), with 2 years as a subject‑matter expert.
Computer Skills – Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, MS Project, and project scheduling software. Familiarity with Med Impact applications (Med Access, Med Response, etc.) is helpful.
Certifications – PMP certification desired.

Salary range $95,717 – $169,898 annually, with incentive compensation. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, wellness programs, paid time off, 401(k) with company match, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and employee referral bonus.
Work Location & EnvironmentOn‑site at the San Diego Headquarters; remote work not available. Regular hours Monday–Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with flexibility for required overtime, nights, weekends, or holidays.
Physical DemandsPrimarily seated; requires occasional standing, walking, hand use, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
