Bio Render can be described as the “Figma or Canva for scientists,” providing web‑based graphic communication products that empower scientists to create beautiful scientific visuals and presentations with ease.

• Within the first 90 days, become an expert on our users, their usage behaviours, and scientists’ typical research workflows.
• Work closely with founders and executives to understand and refine our product UX strategy.
• Lead a team of product designers to deliver a great experience across scientific applications and content.
• Measure and improve our product design impact using qualitative and quantitative data.
• Work cross‑functionally with engineering, product, design (EPD) and go‑to‑market (GTM) teams to ensure a consistently great user experience for scientists.
• Champion great design craft and quality, driving continuous evolution of the design team and the company to a high craft and quality bar.

• 6‑10+ years of product design experience, ideally in a fast‑growing SaaS startup, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing other designers.
• Technically fluent in modern SaaS frameworks and AI technologies, constantly applying new tech to improve user workflows.
• Equally capable as a manager and an individual contributor, willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
• Understand the business impact of product design and drive the team toward positive business outcomes, not design for design’s sake.
• A team player with an edge, who collaborates well and does not fear challenging ideas to reach the best solution.
• Expert at combining qualitative user insights and quantitative data for effective UX decisions.
• Clear communicator, preferring concise written packages over long documents.
• A passion for our mission, vision, and product, enjoying the challenge of building software that delights scientists.
• A background in life sciences is a plus, but not required; a curiosity and desire to learn about science is required.
