Mission Technologies, a Division of HII, is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator Lead to support a Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis, AFB, NV. The individual’s primary responsibility would be leading a team of System Administrators that provide Linux System support to a team of engineers, Subject Matter Experts, and Pilots.

Maintain continuous operation of multi-user Linux computer systems to ensure team can effectively support the mission. This will include, but are not limited to:

• Daily managing team of System Administrators including mentorship and expert knowledge when needed by junior System Administrators
• Setting up administrator and service accounts.
• Installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
• Performing configuration and troubleshooting of systems which may be desktop and/or server based.
• Optimizing system operation and resource utilization and performs system capacity analysis and planning.
• Aiding users in accessing and using systems.
• Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• Maintaining security updates of operating system and software.
• Maintaining system documentation.
• Evaluating vendor products to inform mission partner of decisions

• 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
• Eligible candidates must have management and/or mentoring experience.
• Must have experience with LINUX system administration.
• Must be capable of working morning and evening shifts to accommodate flexible schedule training operations.
• Work Environment:
  Position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI and relevant SAP/SAR Clearance.
• Candidates must have had an active Top Secret clearance within the last 24 months.

• Certifications:
  
  Linux+ and Security+
• Experience in Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) preferably as a System Administrator.
• Preferred experience would be maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
• Prefer candidates with an active TS/SCI clearance
