Job Summary
Potential candidates must reside in the Washington DC area. The successful candidate will work from home and will be dispatched to client sites in the Washington DC area to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues in board rooms and conference rooms.
TEKsystems is looking for an AV Service Engineer to service existing customers in the Washington DC area. Candidates should be well‑versed troubleshooters in Audio‑Video technology with experience with major AV brands such as Crestron and Biamp. The role involves in‑person troubleshooting of audio‑video systems found in executive board rooms and conference centers and requires professionalism and the ability to interface with enterprise customers.
Responsibilities- Minimum 7–8 years of experience with AV integration and/or field service.
- Advanced troubleshooting of Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Cisco, Poly, Logitech, Luxul, NETGEAR, CISCO switches, and video wall systems (Planar, UNILUMEN, LG, Samsung, Barco).
- Reverse engineer legacy AV systems and debug newly built systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance testing, site surveys, and write concise service reports.
- Research and specify replacement products, manage multiple service projects, and lead/mentor junior/intermediate technicians.
- Perform customer interfacing and maintain professional service relationships.
- Two‑year diploma from a technical college or equivalent experience.
- CTS certification highly preferred or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of field service experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Stand, kneel, and/or crouch for extended periods.
- Climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Lift in excess of 50 pounds.
- Audio‑Visual integration, Cat6 cabling, audio/video conferencing, installation.
- Intermediate to advanced AV networking, crimping, soldering, and low‑voltage electrical concepts.
- Experience with multimeter testing and troubleshooting.
Contract position based out of Washington D.C., DC. Hybrid work (home office with site visits).
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $40.00 – $55.00 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, critical illness, accident, hospital, 401(k), life insurance, short/long‑term disability, HSA, transportation, employee assistance, and paid time off. Eligibility may vary by classification and tenure.
