Position: Engineering Manager, Growth

About the Role

As an Engineering Manager for Growth, you will support one team of engineers (8 - 12 engineers). You will lead a highly technical team focused on turning raw health care data into scalable, trustworthy insights that drive measurable business outcomes. Your team will own the modernization of our data ingestion pipeline, ensuring it can handle growth, offer strong observability, and support new analytical and product use cases.

You’ll scale our automated claims analysis engine with more rigorous methodologies and deeper automation, and you’ll partner closely with data science to develop predictive models that forecast member ROI and surface leading indicators. This pod sits at the intersection of data engineering, clinical outcomes, applied modeling, and product impact, and you’ll be accountable for building reliable systems, elevating analytical accuracy, and enabling ROI insights that influence decisions across Growth and the broader organization.

You’ll have the opportunity to hire, coach, and accelerate individual growth. You’ll guide your team toward the right metrics and feedback loops to empower its continuous improvement. As an engineering leader you will be expected to know the ins and outs of your team's tech stack. Additionally we expect our leaders to spend ~15% of their time working in the code and merging pull requests regularly.

To make sure there’s always just-enough valuable, shovel-ready work, you will work closely with stakeholders to prioritize the team backlog and establish goals for each sprint. To support their team’s continuous improvement, you will measure what matters most and lead blameless retros that convert insights into action.

We enjoy a continuous deployment Dev Ops culture, and take owner‑operator pride in supporting our code in production. Our production systems rely on Node.js, Type Script, Nest.js, Python, Graph

QL, Docker, AWS, Postgres, Kafka, Redis, & Databricks. Our workflow is trunk‑based CI/CD, and our security/compliance posture is at the highest standards of healthcare, including HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, and CCPA.

What You’ll Accomplish
  • Collaborate with product partners and Growth leaders to develop and execute a robust, effective roadmap for engineering and scaling data automations, ingestions, and analysis tools.
  • Hire, coach and mentor engineers through day‑to‑day challenges and guide them towards long‑term professional and technical growth.
  • Motivate engineers and ensure high performance through constant feedback and identifying areas of improvement.
  • Develop robust, effective plans addressing various technical and resource challenges within the organization.
  • Lead organizational initiatives on improving workflow processes and resolving them with practical, lightweight, measurable processes.
  • Maintain a groomed backlog, prioritize sprint stories, and lead sprint retrospectives.
  • Lead your teams in consistently delivering on a roadmap they collaboratively define.
  • Scale the team with a strong focus on experience, technical proficiency, and AI integration.
