Serve as the technical authority for the Service Now enterprise platform architecture, ensuring n-2 version currency, optimal performance, security compliance, and strategic alignment with customer modernization goals across 17+ applications and multiple production instances. Additionally in this position you will:
* Own the technical architecture for production platform and CI segregated instance

* Design and validate integration patterns for third-party system connections

* Lead annual platform upgrade planning and execution (currently Vancouver → Xanadu)

* Conduct Service Now health assessments and remediation planning (maintain 91+ score)

* Develop data architecture models based on Service Now best practices

* Ensure CMDB accuracy and discovery dependency mapping

* Collaborate with customer Enterprise Architecture on cloud security packages

* Provide technical oversight for citizen development initiatives

* Design solutions that maximize out-of-the-box (OOB) functionality

* Review and approve all custom code and configurations for platform integrity Qualifications
* Must pass Federal Background Investigation (MBI) / Moderate Risk Level Tier 2, Public Trust required

* Must be U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with a minimum of 3 consecutive years of U.S. residency from date of legal entry

* Must pass federal tax compliance screening

* Minimum 7 years Service Now/Enterprise Service Management architecture experience

* Minimum 2 years in Federal government environments

* Must have verifiable recent (within past 3 years) hands-on experience delivering enterprise service management solutions in the IRS operational environment or an equivalent federal environment of comparable scale, governance, and compliance complexity.

* Prior ownership of multi-module Service Now architectures maintained at n-2 currency

* Proven experience with IT Operations Management (ITOM) implementations and Network Operations Center (NOC) environments

* Service Now ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management)

* CSDM/CMDB strategy and implementation

* Integration architecture patterns (REST, SOAP, MID Servers)

* Platform upgrade strategy and execution

* Performance optimization and availability management

* Security architecture (RBAC, encryption, data segregation)

* Required Certification:
