Summary
The Sr. Program Manager will oversee and coordinate a portfolio of IT projects to ensure alignment with business objectives, technology strategy, and organizational priorities. This role manages multiple complex initiatives across Digital Transformation, Data Analytics, Core System Modernization, and Infrastructure. Responsibilities include end-to-end project delivery: estimating, planning, executing, managing risk, overseeing budgets, and providing post-implementation support. This is a senior-level role with leadership responsibilities and serves as a backup to the PMO Director.
Work Environment: standard office setting with occasional remote work, requires sustained computer use and occasional light lifting.
Responsibilities
* Manage multiple related projects and drive cross-functional collaboration.
* Plan, estimate, prioritize, and track project work across teams.
* Align programs with strategic initiatives and define KPIs and success metrics.
* Lead risk management and issue resolution, ensuring adherence to Governance Standards.
* Develop and manage program budgets and forecasts.
* Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure proper delivery of scope, schedule, and budget.
* Provide leadership, mentor project teams, and support process improvements.
* Oversee vendor management and contract requirements as needed.
* Facilitate executive and sponsor meetings and deliver status reports.
* Ensure the successful transition to Operations and Support.
* Define the Program Roadmap, including milestones, and the Governance Framework.
* Monitor performance, ROI, and benefits realization.
* Coordinate dependencies across projects and escalate blockers.
* Maintain clear communication and align stakeholder expectations.
* Foster team collaboration and remove roadblocks.
* Ensure compliance with standards and promote continuous improvement.
Requirements
* 10+ years of project/program management experience using Agile and traditional methodologies.
* Leadership experience includes mentoring and resource coordination.
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
* PMP certification.
* Strong strategic thinking, communication, planning, budgeting, and risk management skills.
* Knowledge across application development, infrastructure, and/or security.
* Ability to work independently and lead teams.
* Strong client orientation, decision-making capabilities, and team collaboration skills.
* Ability to travel and use standard office equipment.
Preferred
* Experience in PMO operations, governance, and portfolio management.
* Agile certification.
* Experience with project portfolio management tools and Microsoft technologies.
