The Procurement Organization includes a staff of more than two hundred sourcing managers, buyers and analysts. Our work requires close integration with all lines of business, finance, and our suppliers.
The Procurement Excellence Center (PEC) is a strategic function dedicated to driving procurement transformation, operational efficiency, and value creation across the organization. Within the Procurement organization, the PEC establishes best practices, standardizes processes, and leverages advanced analytics and market intelligence to enable data‑driven decision‑making. The PEC collaborates with all Procurement teams to enhance capabilities, improve performance, and optimize costs. Key focus areas include market intelligence and analytics, digital procurement transformation, risk management, supplier relationship management, governance, and capability development.
PositionSummary
The Procurement Services Master Data role plays a key role in supporting the integrity, accuracy, and governance of procurement‑related master data. This individual contributor is responsible for supporting the maintenance and improvement of data quality, supporting the optimization of data processes, and supporting procurement transformation initiatives through effective data management. This individual collaborates with cross‑functional teams, including Procurement, IT, and Supply Chain, to support enforcement of data governance policies, support automation, and enhance reporting capabilities.
This role requires experience in data management, strong analytical skills, and supporting procurement efficiency and decision‑making. Key responsibilities include creation, maintenance, and governance of procurement master data while ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and compliance. The ideal candidate has a background in data management, and experience in data governance frameworks, data quality management, and process automation. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work headquarters.
PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.
The decision will be made on a case‑by‑case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $37.50 to $51.29.
The Procurement Services Master Data role will report to the Manager of Procurement Services Master Data.
Job Responsibilities- Support the creation, maintenance, and governance of procurement master data, including vendor, material, contract, and pricing data.
- Provide support for questions, issues, and problems for an assigned dataset.
- Measure and monitor data management maturity for an assigned dataset.
- Collaborate with Procurement SMEs to define metadata for subject data components.
- Identify data accuracy issues and associated business process weaknesses.
- Execute policies and standards established by the data governance program.
- Maintain and demonstrate strong understanding of data standards and policies.
- Analyze data that does not align with requirements and recommend corrective actions.
- Actively participate in the organization's data governance processes, tools, and programs.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or MIS.
- 2 years of experience in data management, data governance, data quality, reference (master) data management, and/or designing and implementing functional systems and data in a structured process.
- Knowledge of data management best practices, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOX).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Understanding of data governance landscape, processes, and design principles.
- Effective customer service skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies.
- Prior experience working with ERP systems (i.e., SAP) and procurement platforms (i.e., Ariba).
