Sr. Systems Administrator

Overview

Amyx is seeking to hire Sr. Systems Admin for a remote position supporting DLA Energy Applications. The Sr. Systems Admin ensures stable operation of all in‑house and cloud‑based computer software systems and network connections. Responsibilities include planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all software, operating systems, and communication links. The role analyzes and resolves end‑user software program and connectivity issues, provides end‑user training, and recommends technology direction to align with business vision.

The admin provides both local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location, performing general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications. The role applies advanced technical networking knowledge, including load balancing, fault tolerance, and performs vulnerability management and analytics required to meet DLA, DoD, and industrial operational and security standards and best practices.

• Patch servers and workstations.
• Ensure workstations and servers are operational for systems.
• Work with local personnel on any network, software, or system issues.
• Manage telecommunication system support, communications network support, and video teleconferencing support.
• Support numerous commercial, DoD supplied, and internally developed software applications for current and legacy systems.
• Ensure compliance with changing DoD security requirements.
• Support applications, system development, and modernization.
• Manage network and PC hardware/software installations.
• Communicate and coordinate with contract leads and customers.
• Provide accurate information when communicating.

Required:

• Secret Clearance, IT‑I eligibility.
• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from a nationally accredited university or 10 years technically relevant experience.
• Security+ CE (IAT Level II) or higher.
• MCSA/MCSE 2016 or higher, GCWN, and/or Azure Administrator certifications.
• 6+ years of experience.

Desired:

• Oracle, Windows, Linux, Web Logic Server, Java experience.
• Experience with Gurobi Optimizer commercial software.
• Familiarity with DLA Energy business processes and procedures.
• Proficiency in Adobe and MS Office products.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in teams.
• 5 or more years demonstratable experience overseeing 1 or more tier II or tier III technical support teams, performing and managing IT projects or programs, and integrating, maintaining, or sustaining deployed Gurobi Optimizer licenses and products.

Salary: 100-145k

Employee needs to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Positions require ability to work on a desktop or laptop computer for extended periods reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries, and/or reports in written format. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds.
