Job SummaryThe College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) has a great opportunity for a self-driven, creative, and analytical thinker with great communication skills to join the LSA Technology Services management team. We are seeking an OS Programmer Intermediate to join a team of 9 infrastructure staff. This role will report to the Infrastructure Manager and be an integral part of managing our Windows endpoints, along with other server administration tasks.
The position is designed as a hybrid role, offering a dynamic mix of in-person and remote work. After-hours work is an infrequent occurrence.
The target salary range for this position is $70,000 - $81,200

Responsibilities* About The Job
We work with other LSA Technology Services teams, technology teams across campus, and directly with faculty, researchers, and administrators. This team provides and supports an array of technologies that advance the college's and the university's mission. This role will be directly involved in supporting our Windows endpoints with two Senior System Administrators. This work will include packaging software, updating and improving our Windows device build processes, and working with tier 2 support teams to troubleshoot issues and build new processes.
The work will also include using Windows tools like Active Directory, Entra , and InTune to ensure proper configuration and compliance of our Windows environment. Our environments have a heavy emphasis on research and instruction and provide many opportunities to develop new approaches while still meeting university and college policies and expectations.
As an OS Programmer Intermediate, you'll work directly with other system administrators to support various server environments. This work will include regular server patching, proactive monitoring, configuration and testing backups, and disaster recovery plans. You'll work with the Security team to ensure security requirements are met. You will also have opportunities to drive exploration of new technologies and approaches through recurring activities that focus on team innovation.
This work involves both physical and virtual servers and collaboration with remote and in-person teams so in-person work will be required from time to time.
You have a drive to improve processes and automate work know how to work with a variety of technical and non-technical teams to meet the organization's goals. You like learning new technologies and scripting languages find tackling new challenges exciting. You're able to work with groups to distill key goals and then translate them into technical approaches to meet those goals.
Required Qualifications *- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Windows Configuration Manager, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or In Tune
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Windows server administration
- Proficient in the use of Powershell for administration of endpoints mples will be requested
- Server virtualization experience: VMware, Hyper‑V, or comparable products
While this position can be predominantly remote, in-person work at our main campus in Ann Arbor, MI, will be required based on situational demands and at the employee's expense.
