Job Title: UI Designer with UX Research
Location: North Chicago, IL (Open for 100% Remote)
Contract Type: Contract
Role Focus: 70% UI and 30% UX design
Myticas's direct client, based in North Chicago, IL, is seeking a talented UI Designer with UX Research for a REMOTE, contract position. This role will focus on designing intuitive, enterprise‑level applications with multiple complex screens, as well as mobile application interfaces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in user‑centered design processes, including UX research and wire framing, and practical UI design skills, particularly with Figma.

- User‑Centred Design:
Conduct user research, define requirements, ideate solutions, and rapidly prototype. - High‑Fidelity Prototyping & UI Development:
Design and refine UI solutions in Figma, ensuring pixel‑perfect accuracy for enterprise and mobile applications. - Wire framing & Mockups:
Develop low‑fidelity wireframes and high‑fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design solutions to stakeholders and team members. - Collaboration & Communication:
Partner closely with project managers, software engineers, and other UX designers to ensure seamless handoff of design specifications and uphold design quality throughout implementation. - UX Research & Testing:
Plan and conduct user research (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys), analyze findings, and iterate designs based on user insights. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Translate business requirements into compelling user journeys; present design rationale and gather feedback from leadership and diverse client groups. - Autonomy & Initiative:
Take ownership of design tasks, manage workloads independently, and contribute innovative ideas to elevate the user experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, UI Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools (e.g., Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Experience with UX research methodologies, including usability testing, user interviews, and surveys, as well as design thinking principles.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork with stakeholders, project managers, and software engineers.
- Meticulous attention to detail in fast‑paced enterprise environments with multiple, complex screens and workflows.
