Traveling​/Remote Cable​/Network Technician; Secret Clearance Required

Job Overview

TEKsystems is looking for Traveling Cable Network Technicians for a ~4 month project (potentially extendable) that will start at the end of January 2026. The role will primarily involve cable installation, termination (fiber and copper), rack and stack of network equipment, basic to intermediate troubleshooting and testing of network connections, and reading and following network diagrams, installation plans, and migration runbooks.

• Installation, configuration, and onboarding of VERSA devices, Aruba wireless APs, and network switches.
• Execution of end-to-end site migrations to DoDNet, including cutover support.
• Troubleshooting and remediation activities in coordination with program, Network Operations, and Migration teams.
• Hands‑on support during pre‑migration, migration, and post‑migration validation activities.
• Maintain effective oral and written communications with stakeholders.

• Active U.S. DoD clearance (Secret, Top Secret, or Top Secret/SCI) required.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• CompTIA Network+ (Security+ CE or another IAT II certification) required prior to interviewing.
• Experience with cable, Cat 5/6, fiber, routers, switches, and network infrastructure.
• Experience with DoDNet migrations and knowledge of federal security requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Hourly rate: $36.00 - $40.00/hr.

• Contract position based out of Quantico, VA.
• Travel will be mostly CONUS (approx. 80-90% of time); occasional OCONUS travel possible.
• 90% travel required; active passport highly desirable.
• Role is fully onsite in Quantico, VA.
