Job Title: Field Technician

Job Location: Richmond, VA

Job Schedule: 5/8 employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off

• Support the FAA contracts FTI, ADSB, DCNS and other FSG programs as part of the Company’s Field Services organization.
• Provide field support in DC and Atlanta airspaces.
• Demonstrate good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement (RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449).
• Maintain knowledge of fiber, network topology, Multiplexes, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET, ATM, Private Line, and Voice/Data applications.
• Conduct power testing (AC and DC), including 3-phase AC; configure and operate 24
  
  VDC & 48
  
  VDC power supplies.
• Perform network and circuit testing per T1, DS3, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell Core Standards.
• Use network test equipment (e.g., JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope) and other T1/DS3 test sets.
• Configure routers and switches; install equipment racks (wallmount, raised floors, concrete, etc.).
• Travel up to 100% to remote sites within a 3-hour drive circle of the base location; may travel outside assigned region as needed.
• Utilize ladders/step stools to reach heights of approximately 10 feet.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as required and be willing to work outside regularly scheduled hours.
• Travel to FAA site locations within a 3-hour drive from the Richmond, VA area.
• Obtain FAA Security Clearance via Public Trust background investigation.
• Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or 2 years post-secondary/Associate Degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain/maintain FAA Security Clearance.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in high-stress, high-visibility environments.
• Willing to travel and lift up to 70 pounds; capable of working from home in an on-call status as needed.

• Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+ certs (or equivalent).

Liability and physical requirements are consistent with field service roles, including the use of ladders and occasional heavy lifting.
