Montana Technological University is seeking a skilled Web Content Developer to join its Marketing and Communications team. This role manages the university’s digital presence and oversees the primary website (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..

DUTIES

As a key architect of our digital identity, you will manage the university’s primary website, bridging high-level programming with intuitive interface design and ensuring accessibility standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Content Management & Publishing: Refresh text, images, video, and downloadable assets across the site using Cascade CMS; build new pages; resize images; deliver engaging, user‑friendly online experiences.
  • Technical Development & Troubleshooting: Use HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript to adjust layout; test links, typos, and formatting errors; ensure mobile optimization; resolve display issues; conduct routine site audits.
  • SEO, Accessibility & Analytics: Implement on‑page SEO best practices; ensure WCAG compliance.
  • Collaboration & Strategy: Work cross‑functional, coordinate with IT Services, document training guides, and maintain WCAG compliance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or two years’ experience maintaining higher education websites; all aspects of design, information architecture, content development, communications strategy, and application programming.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
  • Experience managing content within a professional CMS.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and graphic development.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access and Apache Velocity.
  • Ability to gather content from diverse departments and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of higher education marketing practices and strategies for college/university websites.
  • Knowledge of the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
  • Experience with the Cascade content management system.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is an on‑premise role requiring the selected candidate to work 40 hours per week in the office.
