Overview

Job purpose

As a Product Specialist, you will manage the design and delivery of our product features. You’ll serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, own the product backlog, and ensure we’re building the right things at the right time. You’ll work closely with Development, QA and customer-facing colleagues to translate vision into reality.

Main responsibilities
  • Write clear, detailed functional specifications that guide development work
  • Create and manage feature requests and user stories in Jira, ensuring they’re properly documented and ready for development
  • Refine backlog items based on feedback from stakeholders and technical teams
  • Participate in feature prioritisation meetings
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Participate in refinement sessions with development and QA teams to clarify requirements and ensure shared understanding
  • Collaborate with QA on test script creation and acceptance criteria to support quality standards
  • Work with engineering to understand technical considerations and constraints
  • Communicate progress and blockers to relevant stakeholders
Product planning
  • Support the curation and delivery of the product roadmap working alongside senior product team members
  • Take part in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Help balance competing priorities whilst maintaining focus on business objectives
  • Contribute to decisions about feature scope and timelines
Delivery & Quality
  • Review completed work against defined acceptance criteria
  • Ensure delivered features meet quality standards and requirements
  • Track feature delivery timelines and highlight dependencies
  • Support the product launch and release process

  • Strong organisational skills, autonomous, self-motivated, curious and open-mindset
  • Ability to translate business requirements to functional specifications
  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to think ‘out of the box’ for process improvements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to learn, grow and not settle for average
  • Experience and knowledge in technology and SaaS environments
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and practices
  • Experience with backlog management tools such as Jira
  • Experience with in the Automotive or Asset Finance industry
  • Awareness of AI capabilities and potential applications in product development
  • Previous exposure to Product or BA teams
